Free at last! (Almost.)
I just paid off the last bit of our equity loan and a year and a half early at that. Man, it feels good to be free of that debt. We still have the credit card to go, but it's manageable and will be gone as soon as the house sells. It's been a long time coming, but there's finally light at the end of the tunnel. Now all we have to do is sell the house! We'll be replacing more carpet soon and the linoleum in the entry way is going to be replaced with laminate to match the kitchen, lv room, and hallway so hopefully the house will sell quickly after that (or before, either works for me).

Why is laminate so popular these days? To me, it's right up there with linoleum. But it seems like everyone is doing it. After having put down real wood, we decided if we buy another house, we'd rather have carpet. Feels nicer. To each their own, right?
ReplyDeleteGood job on the payoff!
ReplyDeleteOur kids are too hard on carpet, at least if it's right next to the eating area. Laminate is much easier to clean, has far less allergens, and is cheaper and lasts longer than carpets. All the bedrooms and the family room will still have carpets (even if we build, we'll still lay down carpet in those rooms) but any rooms attached to the kitchen like our lv room is are better off with something easier to keep clean.
